Seattle Newborn Photography Workshop | Seattle Newborn Photographer

Last month I hosted my very first in person photography workshop. My hope was to connect with other photographers and help them find meaning and direction in their family photography. Together, we photographed a newborn family and a family in Pioneer Square in Seattle. It is so rewarding to help others along in their photography journey.

This little family was the best newborn family we could have asked for. They were so patient and the baby was an absolute dream. She was curious about all the photographers in her face but she tolerated us.

I enjoyed connecting with such a wonderful group of women and sharing my style of photography. I look forward to more photography workshops where I can share my love and passion for family photography. I will be sharing the family shoot later this week.

Pike Place Market Photo Shoot | Seattle Family Photographer

I have been so fortunate to photograph many other photographers but this one holds a special place in my heart. Melissa and I went out on a limb and met at wppi nearly five years ago. We were both  looking to expand our business and our craft. We immediately became best friends and capturing her family is such an honor. We met on this very stormy day at the Seattle Pike Place Market. we wandered through all the nooks and crannies and found some magic along the way. We explored Shadows and Light and didn't let a little bit of rain get in our way. Enjoy this beautiful family!

Family photography should be fun and a true representation of who your family is right now. Nothing forced or fake. just authentic love and connection. I look forward to all of the families I have coming up this year.

A Rainy Day Maternity Session | Seattle Maternity & Newborn Photographer

I know I mentioned it in my last post, but I have had many maternity sessions this past few months. I think often we as women feel self conscious about our pregnant bodies. I know I did. So much change and so much out of our control. It can seem strange to want to document it. But what I have found is that you may regret not having maternity photos taken but you will never regret having them done. I love capturing mothers during this time in their lives. It goes so fast and is a time she will surely look back on and want to remember.

This mother and I met in her home on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Just she and I as her family had other engagements. We spoke about motherhood and birth, challenges and triumphs, and simply got to know each other, which I am always so grateful for before a newborn session as there is already so much going on when you have a new baby. I so enjoyed meeting this calm and peaceful mama and I can't wait to meet her little one when he arrives.

Expecting | Seattle Maternity & Newborn Photographer

I have photographed so many expecting couples this past month which means there will be many newborns ahead. Seems so fitting with it being spring.

I am always so excited when a family purchases my maternity and newborn package because it means we get to know each other before the newborn session, which is so intimate. This sweet couple is excepting their first baby any day now. I could literally feel their anticipation. You know the feeling, excitement, joy, and let's admit it, fear. But this baby is sure to be loved fiercely, as these two are obviously very much in love. Seattle offers the best scenery for photographs, I am so luck to be a photographer in Seattle. Stay tuned for their newborn session.

Seattle University Family | Seattle Family Photographer

How can it be that I have know these two for fifteen years? We met when we were all attending college at Seattle University.  Alicia and I were in nursing school together so we got very close. Nursing school is hard and we spent many hours studying and preparing to be a nurse. Thankfully, we have stayed close over the years and we all try and see each other as much as our busy lives allow. We both have three active kiddos so it can be challenging. I have captured their family many times and I was excited when they suggested Seattle University as a location. It holds so much meaning to us all and it was pretty fun to explore with their kiddos. We would never have been able to predict who these kids would be or how rich their lives would be way back when we were living day to day off minimal sleep and maybe a little to much beer. ;) I know what you might be thinking when you look at this family. Are they for real? They are so beautiful it seems unfair.  Well, let me tell you one thing, they are far more beautiful on the inside and these two are some of the most kick ass parents I know.  I am just lucky to know them!

I can't wait to see where we capture them this year! It just keeps getting better and better! Enjoy.
