Babies Rob & Evan | Seattle Newborn Photography

Imagine that you decide you are going to go ahead and try for that third baby and then to your surprise you find out you are having twins. TWINS. TWIN baby boys. That is what happened to this beautiful Seattle Family. But they had the most amazingly positive vibe and the best sense of humor. I met them for their maternity session and was instantly in love. They have an easy love about them. So much respect and affection. 

We spent our session cuddling babies, feeding babies bottles, and playing with toddlers. It was a wonderful morning that we happened to call a newborn photography session.

Twin Baby Boys | Seattle Newborn Photographer

Having had three babies of my own, only one at a time, I can't imagine how intense it must be to be the mother of newborns. You can imagine this families surprise when they went for that third baby only to find that they were expecting twins. ;) 

I met them last summer at their maternity session and was instantly in love with them. They laughed and smiled easily and love flowed endlessly between them. When the little guys arrived, it was an absolute pleasure to come to their gorgeous new Kirkland home for their in home newborn photography session.

Khim Maternity | Seattle Maternity Photography

One of the main reasons I adore family photography is because it brings so many incredible people into my life. I met this family almost two years ago and have had the honor of capturing them four times now. 

When Khim contacted me to let me know they were expecting their second baby I was thrilled to capture them. Maternity photography is so special because it captures that tender time right before your family is about to change. While having a baby is a beautiful thing, it is also intense. Literally everything changes when that baby arrives.

Going Beyond the Pose Alumni

I have said it once and I will say it a thousand times, my alumni are so inspiring. After each run of any worksop I do, my students are invited in to a private Facebook community. There they bounce ideas off each other, post photos to inspire, and we have a friendly competition for our cover contest each month. Photography education should be fun and build community, at least that is my opinion.

Baby Oliver | Seattle Newborn Photography

I met this sweet family just before Thanksgiving. Their home was quiet and calm as they were adjusting to life with a newborn. They held their baby boy lovingly and I could tell just how much they cherished him. 

Little feet and loving embraces. That is what I want to capture with my newborn photography. I rarely pose babies and I don't expect them to sleep or behave in any particular way. I simply allow them to be the sweet, perfect, newborn that they are. 

Because that is how you will want to remember him.
